As the original founder and Chief Executive of the Gala Coral Group, having led the management buy in from Bass Plc in 1997, he was, until April this year, Chairman of Ladbrokes Coral PLC, and led the Board during its merger with the Gala Coral business, and its subsequent agreed takeover by GVC. Gala Leisure was acquired by Caledonia Investments plc, a self-managed investment trust with net assets of £1.8 billion in December 2015. The new leadership and development of an online product brings renewed confidence to investment in Bingo, with the company maintaining a long-term commitment to the industry, their customers and employees. John Kelly John M. Kelly, OBE, is currently the Chairman of the Advisory and Investment Boards of Kings Park Capital, a private equity fund specializing in investments into the leisure and hospitality sector. He was the Founder of Gala Coral Group Limited (formerly, Gala Group Ltd.) where he led a management buy-in from Bass PLC of its bingo division in December of 1997 for £300 million. He then served as CEO until 2004, and was then Executive Chairman until leaving the Group in 2007. Mr. Kelly served as a Director of Mecca Leisure PLC from 1984 to 1992. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Ladbrokes Coral Group plc since 1 September 2010 and served as its Senior Independent Non-Executive Director since 1 September 2010 until 4 December 2015, when he was appointed Chairman. He served as a Board Member of The Prince of Wales ‘Business in the Community’ Charity from 2003 to 2010. After successful leadership positions at Marks & Spencer and Dixons Group, Chris joined the UK’s largest outdoor retailer, GO Outdoors as Chief Executive in 2013 and focused on achieving the very best for his customers through products and an engaging customer experience, both online and in store. During his time as, Chief Executive of Go Outdoors, Chris oversaw the retailer’s growth in profits and expansion to become market leader which resulted in its acquisition by JD Sports.
